What can I say about these simple, Almond Cherry Pie Bars? There’s not really much to them, just 3 real food ingredients and one delicious taste. These can be ready in just a few minutes and have an awesome cherry pie flavour. I love the flavour combination of almond and cherry, it’s a whole food match made in heaven.
Switching Up Dates for Dried Cherries
I usually use dates or raisins in my raw energy bar recipes but I came across some dried cherries while out shopping and I had to give them a try!
I can’t wait for fresh cherries to come into season but for now, it’s dried cherries, which are still delicious although a little tricky to find. Make sure you use unsweetened dried cherries, I had to try a few stores to find some that were reasonably priced and didn’t have any added ingredients like sugar or preservatives.
Speaking of dried foods, does anyone use a dehydrator at home? My mom makes all sorts of dried fruit and fruit leather and it’s awesome! We always had homemade fruit leather growing up while the other kids had store-bought Fruit Roll-Ups. Ya, GO MOM!!
Only 3 Ingredients Needed!
All you need to make these almond cherry pie bars are raw almonds, dried cherries and dates! That’s it! How easy is that?
Almost as easy as my 2-ingredient salted peanut bars!!
And even easier than all of these…
K, they’re actually all really easy. I’m a lazy cook, so the easier, the better!
Anyone Do Homemade Canning?
How about canning? Does anyone do any homemade pickles, peaches, green beans or other canned goodies? We always had canned pickles growing up and I loved those. My mom made them with tons of dill and garlic and they were so good!!
This summer we’re doing a big batch of homemade canned salsa with my grandmas recipe. It’s the best salsa ever and I’ll definitely share the process on the blog when the time comes.
I’ve never actually canned myself, just enjoyed the goods, so I’m really looking forward to learning.
Almond Cherry Pie Bars
I hope you enjoy these yummy bars. Todays taste-tester (hubby) said they were delicious, delightful and fruity, and he’s a pretty tough critic.
They’re great for an easy breakfast on-the-go, a quick snack or even dessert! Enjoy 🙂Print
